April 16, 200917 yr From the "YJCMTSU" department: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/15/tuk-tuk...d-epa-approval/ If it can pass safety and pollution standards in USA, I doubt that it can be very similar to Thai models. I wonder if smiling blond comes with it? Cheers! Indo-Siam
April 17, 200917 yr I see some limited success in USA in the same market a John Deere type 4 wheeled vehicle is used around the corporate campus and the university or golf courses. This vehicle is not suitable for the longer over the road travel and in my opinion is dangerous with the 3 wheels.
April 17, 200917 yr I wonder if the Bangkok tuk tuk drivers will offer their American counterparts some driving lessons.
April 17, 200917 yr I saw one zip past me in Tokyo. It was very quiet and no/low smog production. TheWalkingMan
April 17, 200917 yr I doubt that it is a two-stroke version though, as that would not meet the pollution standards. I ran into one Tuk Tuk here in Chiang Mai just a few nights ago that had been converted to a four-stroke engine of some kind. Wasn't for hire.... just some guy's private ride only driven during water-throwing festivals.
April 17, 200917 yr I wonder if the practice of handing out flash cards of working girls will be allowed in the States also?
