April 19, 200917 yr To help ease the shock for everyone out there - daily parking at the airport is now 200 baht per day! A slight increase over the previous 50 baht per day... 1-4 hour rates are still dirt cheap though, so picking people up isn't that bad. Aloha
April 19, 200917 yr Do customers get a free beating if they object to the increase?!? (Sorry, couldn't resist )
April 19, 200917 yr This has already been discussed last month here ... http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Phuket-Airpo...airport+parking
April 19, 200917 yr Is it only me?: Every time I come back to Phuket and go to my car in the parking lot there's at least 1 or 2 mini vans which are parking(blocking) behind me...........and you have to wait until the drivers are coming back. Gerd

No, happens to me too. I park way over in the last row, and still I get blocked. I'm told they leave the handbrake off so that you can push them out of the way..... I've learned to park at the very end of a row and can drive over the grass island to get out. Not in the MX5, but in my wife's big MU7 tank.
April 19, 200917 yr yup drives me crazy, last time was threatened for trying to push one out of the way.......Time before that waited over an hour for some Ahole to show up and move his minibus who then told me i shouldn't drive and get a Taxi....
April 19, 200917 yr I have never had this problem, as I can be seen driving to the airport once a month with my suitcase on my honda dream! Though i do have to deal with the swamp like conditions in the motorbike area.
April 19, 200917 yr Do customers get a free beating if they object to the increase?!?(Sorry, couldn't resist ) Naw. They should just count their blessings. LHR Rates: Up to 30 minutes £2.30, 24 - 36 hours £70.00, 36 - 48 hours £89.00LAX Central Terminal $30. daily rate Ok, ok, it's Thailand and a smaller airport, but still when compared to a similar airport such as San Juan, Puerto Rico at $20. daily + $15. ea. additional day HKT is still a bargain. The difference though at HKT as opposed to the major airports in the west is that your car is usually there when you come back. An added bonus is boiling hot interior with seats that cook your posterior.

Gerd Yes, happened to me and the kook didn't leave the car in neutral. Luckily I was in a 4x truck and I drove up over the curb and over the median to get free. Now I park in the last rows, lesson learned. With the 200thb daily fees, I've been doing taxis recently.

I do the same now(parking in the last rows), but even a car with open doors and in neutral position I would never ever touch or push a stranger's car. Gerd
April 22, 200917 yr I always park about 3 meter from the curb so nobody will or can park behind me. Seems to work for me as they always park behind the car next to me.
May 5, 200917 yr To help ease the shock for everyone out there - daily parking at the airport is now 200 baht per day! A slight increase over the previous 50 baht per day... Anyone know if there a motorbike parking fee?
