January 27, 200323 yr I’m in Chiang Mai, and planning on buying a condo here. I have been living in Thailand for seven years on Non-Im “ED” and “O” visas. My question concerns the funding of the condo. The money that I will use to buy the condo is in a regular savings account here, and has been here for many years. Someone told me that the money needs to be specifically brought in for the purpose of buying a condo, and deposited in a foreign currency account. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Will I need to send my money out, and then bring it back in to Thailand, depositing it into a foreign currency account? Thanks for any assistance.
January 30, 200323 yr You need to prove that they ahve entered from abroad, you have to take them out of Thailand and import them again. Be sure that the Thai Bank issues a "Form TT3" so you can prove that they have arrived in the right way. Just ask the bank for a TT3 form.
