April 21, 200917 yr I have just moved from one serviced apartment to another and within less than 3 weeks of being here Im fed up with the place mainly due to the useless net service and a few other things that i dint check before handing over the deposit. So Im already looking for a new place, this time I have a checklist of all the things that I want/need but after searching several apartment rental sites Im finding it hard to tick off all my little boxes. I'll find a place that has a pool and direct phone line but no kitchen area in the room or vice versa. Its very frustrating Right now I spend about 8,300 a month on my room (but electricity is a bit 'pang' at 7 baht a unit) and I think I can only budget up to 10,000 a month. Im a bit nervous of anything higher as my pay is profit based so it goes up and down. I also cant commit to 12 months, only 6 at most. Going on my list here am I expecting too much? Does anyone know anyplaces with all of the following? Budget - Around 10,000 baht per month Area - Upper Sukumwit (Ekamai, Thnong lor, Prakanong etc) or Ramkamhaeng or Rama 9 or Ratchada Size - Around 35-40 square metres is enough for me Direct phone line - this is very important, the reason I want to move right now is cos Im sick of crappy internet via serviced apartments and need a high speed connection) Pool - Doesnt have to be too special but Id like to be able to have a swim UBC - Just a few channels such as HBO, movies, Discovery would be nice Kitchen area with sink - I like to be able to make a bit of western food for myself a few times a week Restaurant - I like to be able to order some thai food when Im too lazy to make my own food Shop - One that opens late cos I hate having to walk to a 7-11 when Ive run out of milk/snacks etc Furniture - I dont need a lot and only need a small wardrobe but I do like to have a proper table for working on with my laptop and eating etc Electricity - Also a bit sick of paying 6-7 baht per unit in these services apartments so something around 4 baht would be better Contract - Max 6 months, unfortunately I cant commit to a 12 month contract
April 21, 200917 yr you are asking for yoo much. But around ratchadaa and ramkham there are small sois with hidden apartments which sometimes do have pools, and it can be surprising how cheap these places are. But they are never on the internet, you have to literally trawls the sois yourself. Edited April 21, 200917 yr by OxfordWill

And a night porter. 4500 a month. Internet was I think, 500 baht extra a month. Can't remember the electric. 10,000 with internet, a pool, restaurant and shop? If you find one let me know RAZZ Edited April 21, 200917 yr by RAZZELL
April 26, 200917 yr Don't think you are asking too much. I've seen a few places that suits your criteria. My place is like what you have mentioned, less the kitchen area and pool. Very decent restaurant downstairs too that have room delivery without extra charge. It's 40 SQM, I pay around 8.5k including utilities, wifi internet, and about 10-15 minutes walk to MRT. You should be able to find it with some scouting. Edited April 26, 200917 yr by dudeyone
