The Best Coverage Of The Red Shirt Uprising You'll Find

Featured Replies

Hey all.

For all those of you who had been getting the sneaking suspicion that you're only hearing half the story, or even complete fabrications, from the Thai media, the government and the military on the "Black Sonkran" incident, I encourage you to read the following article by a very formidable photo journalist.

http://rspas.anu.edu.au/rmap/newmandala/20...the-red-shirts/

Taken from New Mandala.

cheers,

jc

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

One man's ' neutral ' is another man's bias.

Interesting read, is this, but he doesn't come across as being too neutral to me.

Is it New Mandala or New Mandalay ?.... and just misspelled

Oh.

Because this bloke said it was like that then it must be true :o

Mind you I didn't even bother reading it, why waste my time.

its common knowledge the local newspapers are suppressing and filtering the news, particularly regarding the red shirts.

thanks for the link.

good photos and a great read.

This guy has been a red propagandist for a long time. I wonder what his screen name here is...

interestingly enough, the comments to that part of the blog received high numbers of very positive feedback.

by a very formidable photo journalist.

What makes him formidable? The fact that you agree with him?

P.S. This article has already been brought to our attention numerous times over the last few days by the red-shirted members here. Reading it once was quite enough!

interestingly enough, the comments to that part of the blog received high numbers of very positive feedback.

Are they moderated by the author by any chance?

I agree.

We certainly have had to put up with pro TRT baised journalism for the last 8 years, so not surprising that it is still there now.

This so called massacre of hundreds as the reds have been claiming simply is a figment of some people's imagination with no evidence in this report or anywhere else to sabstantiate.

The complete hatred of the red shirts by the residents threatened, on the other hand, was very real, so it is indeed fortunate that there wasn't a lot more Thai vs. Thai action....to think this is a PAD vs. red shirts situation is totally wrong; the Lard Prao area is not particularly pro PAD, just completely anti thugs invading their neighbourhood; the Din Daeng flats situation even more so...because they were being threatened with a makeshift bomb rather than just bad graffiti, blocked roads and drunk roaming morons abusing anyone who would listen.

Everyone has their point of view, Nick Nostitz does a great job of capturing the moment on film....nice to see.

Still does nothing to make me think that guys like Jakapop are anything other than thugs who have tricked poor upcountry folk to do their dirty work for them; let's remember that Jakapop is one of the most self serving corrupt people to ever head up channel 11.

Indeed, this article has been posted on more than one occasion and has warranted quite a bit of discussion already. I think that the existing threads are ample enough to discuss this article and the red shirt demonstrations
