Wireless Signal Boosters

Featured Replies

It doesn't have to be an outdoors booster, and preferably not particularly expensive. I am looking to send the signal around 30m.

Any recommendations or suggestions as to type or brand and price?

Is this for a laptop or a PC? Or do you want to boost an access point? There are a number of cheap omnidirectional antennas available at Fortune, but you have to look around a bit as they usually don't make the front cabinet display.

Sorry, no this is for my wireless router to be used to boost its signal

I was looking at something like this: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=F5...apr09-_-F5D7130

or this http://www.hawkingtech.com/products/produc...&ProdID=187

but don't know how effective they are

I tried to boost my signals with range extenders. Useless. Sold them on ebay for what I paid, even when I said I could get them to function in the way I wanted. (Extending the range!)

The best solution I have found is to get a 30db aerial and place it out side facing where you want to cover. If there are walls between the signal will degrade too much. Any way if there are walls, or you are trying to cover inside, run a cable and a second stand alone AP. I have two about 30 meters apart, using the same SSID, and all works beautifully.
