Hi Everyone

My wife has been over here in the U.K on a settlement visa for over a year, ILR is to made in November and she has already passed the life in the U.K test. I was made redundant from my job over a month ago as a result I am claiming JSA for the both of us. I questioned the local job center about this and that my wife is subject to immigration control and I did not want to add her to the claim plus she cannot claim public funds but he would not accept my claim without me adding her as we have a child and stating she was not making the claim that I was, so she is not recourse to public funds. I would not of bothered about claiming but we have a 7 month old baby who was born over here with only British citzenship so we need the money. I'm 99.9 % sure that 1 of us will be able to get some kind of job well before we will apply for ILR. We have the money in bank to apply for ILR (which is going to stay there). So the question is ....... does anyone think that we will have any problems with applying for ILR?

Thanks alot

Dean and Nam Ing
