I have just come across this useful utility for those fortunate enough to have their own web space.

Fling

The above Fling utility I find very handy.

The features I like are:

1. very small

2. easy to setup

3. files can be dragged/dropped into a local directory

4. files are uploaded manually, automatice, etc
