Irritating Yappy Dogs.

Featured Replies

so yes i know i'm not the only one who 's got yappy dogs living 4 houses down from me, but 3 of these 'rat faced' pooches yapping at full throttle every time an ant walks past, is driving me nuts.

strange thing is , not only do they leave them out on there todd for 16hrs a day, but the gadgy is european, thought they might understand a little more than the thais.

perhaps he'll get the point when i impale them on his gate posts, <deleted>.

so cures , remedies, all suggestions welcome, apart from moving, smart <deleted>

One to the head, two to the chest.

Have you tried talking to the owners?

Admittedly, if they leave them outside on their own for most of the day you may well be wasting your breath! But then again - it may just make them think about it.

AK47 ? you sound like me, we have 4 living 3 doors away ,everytime i go past they are at the gate all of them, barking their guts out, ,now ive had dogs all my life, bit i feel like doing something awful, chances are i wont, the owners have had letters and neighbors tell them, all has fallen on deaf ears, why oh why do people have these little fanny lickers to just leave out all day and night, ive NEVER seen any of them being taken for a walk, but the bottom line is its the owners,,idiots, and it sounds like they are everywhere,.

Doppa, as you are moving to Chiang Mai in two months I wouldn't worry about it. :o

Just go to Amazon.com and search for 'dog deterer,' and purchase one.

Ultrasonic sound maker which, when my mate and I tried it over about a week in Jomtien recently, worked quiet well, and this was with big packs of soi dogs.

You have to get pretty close to the dog but the effect ranges from turn tail and yelp to calm down and watch.

A lot nicer than poisoning or hurting an animal which is the victim of human mismanagement.

the fact that they are left there, seems to my way of thinking that they couldnt care a toss, maybe a colt 45 in there lug, would get some action, thinking about wrapping some sleeping tablets into a sausage, and slipping inbetween the gate, perhpas not enough to put them out for good...but you never know, at least theyll be quiet, and can dream about barking.....just as i type here they go again, ants obviously coming back home from a hard shift.

Had 7 yappers within spitting distance. They knew me by the sound of my jandals, and would yap incessantly as I went down the street. Went and bought a couple of boxes of doggie treats, and when they barked, I'd toss them one, then another before they started barking again. After 2 weeks, they still knew me, but now they just come up tails a'waggin', but they only get a treat every two weeks or so.

Found out who the ringleader was, though. One of the yappers next door died unexpectedly (owner wouldn't tell me how). And the blessed quiet through the neighbourhood is lovely - I can hear the boy racer motor scooters now :o

You're so brave. :o If only we could all summon up the courage to kill an animal that annoyed us by yapping.

Ever considered the fact that these (rat faced) dogs are doing a job.

They are possibly there because the owners are out a lot and they don't want to be robbed. Having a few dogs are a good deterant for someone who just wants to have a quick entry and exit to a house that they know is unmanned for a great many hours in the day.

Maybe you will get the point when he has impaled you on your gate posts and sued you for damages to his property. <deleted>.

Your right a good deterrant to piss off your neighbours!!

I prefer yappy dogs to yappy people anyday.

I would love to know how to irritate some of them.

Ever lived near a house or car that has an over sensitive alarm that goes over every day - do you call the police or simply wish to smash it and the owner with a hammer?

Leaving a note for the owner (that the dogs don't eat) suggesting that the dogs are controlled or removed!

It's fairly clear the dogs are not cared for so moving on might be an improvement for them.

Deleted post that advocates the possibility of killing a dog.

Since this topic like others on this subject has drifted to that point I am now closing it.
