hankc Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Good day everyone, I have 2 questions hoping for your advice. 1. Is there any restriction on the amount of Thai currency in cash I can bring into Thailand. 2. If I have stay more than 90 days in Thailand, do I need a Tax Clearance Certificate if i want to leave the country. I am holding a one year retirement visa. Not working. The reason I ask is that on the Thai arrival and departure card there is a notice which states: Alien entering Thailand and having income or alien staying over 90 days in Thailand without income must possess a Tax Clearance Certificate from the Revenue Department before leaving leaving Thailand. If not, will not be permited to leave. Is it true, and where to get a clearance in Chiangmai. Please help...Thanks..
george Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 1. No restictions how much currency you can import into Thailand. The government support it! 2. The Tax clearance is since many years voided, but still printed on the TM cards (departure/arrival cards). Nothing to bother about!
