Win7 Xp Mode Won't Run On Some Cpu

Even if your cpu is listed as a yes check your BIOS for support.  It still may not work, purhaps Hp and others will be patching BIOS to make those unsupported BIOS's work with supported CPU's, but still would need a CPU that is supported.  Some will be disappointed.

Whaddya mean "Some will be disappointed"?

If non-gurus buy Win7 less than 18 months after release they are asking for disappointment, as well as anger, frustration, despair, etc...

Leave it alone until a ) the geeks have founds ways around the teething problems, b ) MS have released at least SP1 and c) the manufacturers (hardware and software) have caught up; and then get it when you next buy a new machine. There really is no rush.

Intel has problems with 64 Bit from beginning and haven't solved all that problems till today. That's one of the reasons I didn't use Intel CPU's for my own, except in my laptop which will I NOT run on 64 bit ever.

And why that report is just about Intel CPU's?!

There not any problems with AMD CPU's!

Come on guy's, be fair! The architecture of the two CPU Range's are very different. AMD was the first which were able to produce an 64 Bit CPU with full downward compatibility, which the Intel CPU isn't till today to 100%.

It's easy to tell NO to something you really never tested! But to do so is unfair to the whole community because you admit something for which you haven't any evidence. It differs if you can tell in details, from your own experiences WHY YOU wouldn't use that or whatsoever system, that's Ok, but it's also wrong if you generalize that, which you can't if you're objective!

Same bad action is, if you use reports from others, for which YOU didn't has any proof, and admit that those things are bad or wrong pp.! It never means that those what it's bad pp. for others, is bad pp for you too!

And regarding Windows 7, I really believe that the time will teach you that you're wrong!

Have a nice day.

I am not saying no to win7 just wanted everyone to know at this point, look before jumping with equipment you have on hand.  Thats what had me interrested in this because I have two intel. My E8400 shows it is supported but I have to go dig up on the BIOS yet.  At least the BIOS can be flashed if they write one for it.  If I install win7 with xp mode I am hoping not to buy any equipemt or add parts like a cpu.  Most PC's I get run 7 years before they get dumped.  I just got the E8400 a few months ago.  Its going to be in use a long time.  Really strange, before now I always had AMD.

And Atom CPU's don't have VT, and P4's don't have VT, and...

Anyone who doesn't know what VT is won't know what XP mode is all about anyway, and probably won't even know it exists.

And I honestly have no idea why some people are seriously bugging out in this thread. :)

Ahhh.. khao jai. Even more lolz worthy now. :D
