I have a leelavadee tree in my garden that has looked terrible since it went in. The new leaves come out fine but gradually get yellowy spots, turn brown, shrivel and drop off. I took one leaf to a garden centre and they gave me something to spray the tree with, malathione, I think. As I suspected this did not work as my limited knowledge of gardening in the UK leads me to think it would need a systemic treatment.

Anybody got any ideas before I have to dig it out and burn it?

Thanks

It is probably rust (fungus)

Plumeria problems

You need a liquid fungicide and need to dispose of fallen leaves to get rid of the fungus.

Malathione is an insecticide so wouldn't be effective.

From what I have read the fungus doesn't actually kill the tree. Some websites say to just dispose of fallen leaves carefully and not bother to spray.

So I don't think you will find the tree has died as the fungus only affects leaves.
