Dumbells

Featured Replies

is there anywhere that sells weights, dumbells etc in samui? been to big C and lotus but they dont sell anything over about 5kg.

is there anywhere else that sells this sort of sports eqpt?

cheers

Unless you're buying something from an out-of-business gym, you probably won't find anything on Samui.

Try ultimatefitnessthailand.com (it won't be cheap, though).

you could always go into a gym and ask where they bought them?

I bought some cast iron dumbells from Lotus last year. 2 x 5kg, 2 x 2.5kg and 2 x 1.25 kg weights on each dumbell with good quality screw on collars. Might be worth asking if they are just out of stock. If memory serves me 1350b.

I have been looking everywhere and cant find anything worth having, the above has everything you need but a full set of weights is approx 50k

50k! swerve that i'm gonna get some concrete and some metal bars and make my own...

Tree trunks work well ....but getting the exact weight for each bell is more or less imposible....but if you can live with that they are fine... Carrefour in BKK have some that are OKish but again if you want a good set maybe 14,16,18,20kg it will set you back about 7k plus can never find a z bar...maybe Surat has a carrefour, take a trip over there.

When I was buying some equipment I went to one of the big department stores (I think it was Central) in Bangkok, and was amazed at how cheap it was to have it delivered to my door in Samui. I think it was about three hundred baht door to door and arrived three days later on a lorry packed out with stuff. The store had a fantastic selection of equipment too, so if you cant get it locally have a weekend away and shop up there.

HL :)
