Buying A Phone In Chaing Mai

Featured Replies

I lost my phone and broke my mp3 player in the same week and thought I would replace them with a single unit, i.e. an mp3 phone. I use a linux eee pc, so usually put podcasts onto a memory-card as the eee doesn't recognise many things plugged into it.

1 - Which would be a good model, available in Thailand, to go for. Criteria: cheap(ish), takes a memory-card, has reasonable loudspeakers.

2 - Do all phones bought in Thailand with Thai menus have an English menu option?

3 - Where to buy one in Chiang Mai at a fixed price (rubbish at haggling). Are prices in Central, Kad Suan Kew fixed, or do you haggle? I was thinking Tesco seems easy, the big one by the highway.

4 - Is a guarentee worth anything... or once I've got it, it's mine (sold as seen).

Thanks for any tips.

Nokia 5310 express music- small/flat, good phone with a very good mp 3 - player built in.

You'll hear that by replacing the original headphones with better ones.

Uses SD micro - card. Long battery life also. Only the cam isn't worth.

I'm using it for audio books and music every day - just fine!

Price around 63oo - 6400 THB.

OK thanks. I'll look out for it. I was hoping for something in the couple of grand mark, but perhaps that's unrealistic, as accepting memory cards isn't really a standard feature I guess.
