Avg 8.5 Antivirus & Firewall Setting Up An Exception For Port 11847

Featured Replies

I have just tried to set up µ Torrent 1.8.2 and a have done everything they suggested in http://www.portforward.com/. When I use the µ Torrent “Test if port is forwarded properly” is logs on to a site saying that the port is blocked. When I turn off the AVG firewall it says it is OK.

I also downloaded PFPortChecker1.0.28.exe which also confirms this. This is my first foray into using bit torrents.

Can anyone let me know how to set up the exceptions in AVG 8.5

Many thanks in advance

First of all, I can see 2 different ports from your screenshot.

21335 and 11847. The port nb. in image no 1. should be correspond withe the port in your router.

I actually can't determine which one you have forwarded in your modem/router.

So, my question is which router brand (model) do you use? In some routers require the firewall to be turned off -

some not.

My error uploading the incorrect image for test port in µTorrent, the port i am setting up is 11847.

I have a Belkin FSD8631-4 router and have configured Virtual Server to 11847 as instructed in www.portforward.com.

Using µTorrent

When I turn on the AVG firewall I get:

When I turn off the AVG firewall I get:

I have also rechecked this using PFPortChecker1.0.28

What I need is some help setting up AVG 8.5 antivirus & firewall for an exception for a Port 11847 or whatever port that I may need.

I can’t make any sense out of the help files with AVG and have tried to find an answer on the internet.

Thanks
