May 12, 200917 yr The downside is that it's TOT, but... is this box a DSLAM? I always thought they are bigger than that but maybe there's new models? If it's not a DSLAM, then what is it? Thanks! Asking because if it is, then my house will for the first time be actually in DSL range. TOT only, but still.

Normally installed somewhere close to a telephone distribution box, so they can easily route phone lines through the DSLAM. The dslam itself gets it internet through a single fiber optic cable. In short at the micro dslam they inject ADSL service onto the telephone lines. Below is a TT&T DSLAM
May 12, 200917 yr Author Yep, you are right, it is one! It's TOT but whatever, because now for the first time my house is within distance of this mini DSLAM, 3.2 km not too bad. Already ordered and paid for cables to be laid, will come next week. CAT is supposed to be coming soon too but I was always more the Mr right now kinda guy... the best service in the world doesn't help you if it's not actually available. Beside, if it does come I can always run both TOT and CAT on a load balancing router, so nothing to lose really... Whopee!
