Chevrolet Captiva

Featured Replies

I hope that someone may be able to assist me on this?

I have recently bought a Captiva 2.0 L. I have the owners manual only in Thai and i cannot find anywhere to down load one in English?

if anyone should know where to get one i would be very grateful. The main thing i am trying to look up is, when i am in automatic and wish to go a little faster, is there a sports mode?

I do not really know much about cars and do not know how to work it out.

many thanks in advance.

Return to the dealer and request an English language manual...they should be able to get one from Chevrolet Thailand. If they can't or won't, then contact Chevrolet Thailand directly. If that all fails, go to the website of GM United Kingdom or Chevrolet (Holden?) Australia and look for a download of the Captiva's owner's manual in English.

You don't need a sport mode to go faster.

If you're looking to overtake, just change down a gear and accelerate. Most automatics will do this for you if you just press down on the accelerator hard(er).

I got both a Thai and English manual when I brought mine here from Auto Technic on Petchburi, they should be able to help.

You don't need a owners manual to operate a car. It's not a airplane. See if there is a "Sport" knob or button somewhere at or near the shifter, similar like the overdrive button. If not, then is no sport mode. Opel, for example have a "S" button as sport mode, but so soonest you push that "S" button the overdrive get disconected as well. Could be the same with the captiva. Noit so difficult. Play arroud with it and you'll find out.

I'm big on owners manuals. Go back to dealer and ask for an English version. The Captiva is sold in Europe and Australia.

Go get what you paid for, leave it in the crapper, and browse thru it during your "down" time. You'd be surprised with what your car is capable of, and it doesn't hurt to learn a thing or two.

You say that you don't really know much "...about cars and do not know how to work it out....", seriously.. go ask for the english version.

When I bought my CRV 2 years ago, I asked for the english version and it was given to me about a week after.

I've driven cars since I was 16, read all the owners manual for everyone of the cars that I bought. When I rented a car, yup.. read the owners manual for those cars/trucks/vans/ as well.

I'm not a rocket scientist, which is why I read those manuals.

Drive safe.
