Another 30+ Days Before Moving Back To Europe

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'll be headed back to Europe towards the end of June. My current non-b (one year multiple issued in the UK) expires on June 6th (really really expires - I've already tacked on the extra 90 days in my last trip out and back).

I could do with an extra month to sort out belongings, get everything in order etc.

Any suggestions on what the easiest way to get another month (or slightly more) might be? Tourist visa or another non-b?

Was thinking of a non-b (90 days) in Singapore. I've never worked here during the year - just an invitation letter from a law firm here in BKK and was going to try the same again via Singapore - not sure - last experience with the Singaporean Embassy was that they could be difficult.

At this point I have no worries about switching to a tourist visa either - since I'm no longer doing business here.

Have heard of long queues but generally positive results for applying for tourists visas in Vientiane.

Is it true that the visa waiver/visa on arrival for tourists is only 15 days now?

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

It is still 30 days by air but only 15 days by land or sea. Tourist visa would give you a bit more time than a 30 day entry so probably a better choice.

If you you fly in you get 30 days and by land 15 days.

You won't get a B visa at any nearby consualte without a work permit application or a contract as a teacher.

I suggest you make a trip to Vientiane and get a tourist visa. It's gotten better there since they moved and have a number system instead of the line. Best day is a Wednesday. Monday is the worst. If you go befoe the 4th of June it will be free.

Thanks lopburi3 and ubonjoe.

I'd suspected that that might be the case for the non-b

Vientiane is looking like the place to go then. Not in a hurry either so may take the night train up to Nong Khai - and stay a couple of days.

Was reading the 'Vientiane' thread as well - so think I've pretty much got the gist of how things work up there.
