sceadugenga
Got to trot back to the old home country for an indeterminate period so decided to check out the budget airlines. Just booked Air Asia Chiang Rai to Melbourne oneway for 9000baht. I can do without the cuisine de clouds and the movies for that price.

sceadugenga
Yep, that's what I paid. The key flight was the promotion, KL to Melbourne for 410MR. (About 4300B).

If anyone wanted a one way ticket then quite a good deal. Doubling up for a return ticket not much different from etihad, in fact more, as one has to get to KL. If one booked way ahead then probably a lot less. Good luck Scea in Oz, I'm in England this month, little bit of business and visiting family and friends. sceadugenga
You can add extra 5-6000 to that for the Chiang Rai connection. More, or less, depending on when and where you book.
