Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck tracking their application on the vfs website?

Everytime i try to check i get 'invalid search'

I'm entering the only application number i have "GWFxxxxxxxxx" and the DOB of the applicant, my girlfriend...

Anyone know anything about this feature?

I've been checking both my wife and stepdaughter's applications on line every day for almost two months now. Both of their numbers are APET/******/******/* . A friend who's also got applications pending

for herself and two daughters has also got numbers starting 'APET', neither start 'GWF' . I got the numbers from the receipt my wife was given at the VFS centre, are you sure you're using the right number?

By the way all it will say is 'your application has been forwarded to the British Embassy on (date)' and it won't give any more information until it says your passport is ready for collection. No updates on how the application is progressing at all, and even when the passport is ready for collection it won't give the success (or failure) on line, you have to go to collect the passport to see the result.

This page is pointless imo and you're not missing anything so don't worry. It only ever has 2 different message, it's been passed to the embassy or it's back from the embassy. It's doesn't tell you anything about how far into the decision procedure the application is or whether you have got the visa. It's also updated randomly and your visa could be back from the embassy and the page not updated for a couple of days, as it was in our case.

The reason why it does not tell you if you are successful or not is that the VFS are not allowed to open your application when it is returned from the BE.

Last application my missus made went like clockwork alot better than the old days where you have to be outside the BE at 4am in the morning to have a chance to get the application submitted.

Thank God for Central!!!!
