Switching Asdl Isp Companies

Featured Replies

If I wanted to switch from my CSLox ADSL account to say a TOT ADSL account with the same phone line, how long does it take to happen and what is process? I think I heard somewhere a phone line can only be serviced by one ADSL account at a time? Reason I ask is CSLox prices seem so much higher compared to TOT?

I'm pretty sure you can only have one DSL connection on one line. As far as timeframe goes, True take around 3 days to 'provision' the line (compare this to 10 days in the UK, and that's if you're lucky). This is assuming the old DSL has been removed. I can't imagine TOT would take significantly longer. Why don't you go with True? Despite all the naysayers, I've never had one significant problem with their service (apart from their sometimes bizarre pre-installation issues).

I am not sure if you are on a CSLOXINFO home package as never tried it. I am on 4mb SME package and came from TOT provider.

Believe me going back to TOT you will regret it immensely - you will save a few baht for sure but the quality/bandwidth etc. is a nightmare.

Cannot recommend it.

I agree that TRUE is reasonably good, in our area anyway, but don't they provide ADSL only over their own Tel lines (at least in BKK)? In the past this was the case. We had to get a TRUE tel line in order to get their ADSL even though we had already two TOT tel lines.

I've always assumed my line was a TOT line, but actually, it could be a True line I guess. The bill definitely says TOT at the top, but in the middle of the bill, kind of lurking in the background is a True logo. I've always had the line installed at the same time as connecting the DSL, since I have little other use for a landline, so you could well be right opalhort. Never realised that.

Yes you certainly have a TRUE line.

The bill shows TOT because TRUE has a concession agreement (or whatever it is called) with TOT.

TOT numbers (in BKK) only go up to 02-5xx-xxxxx , TRUE numbers start at 02-6xx-xxxxx
