So Is It Any Easier To Stay In Thailand Now?

Featured Replies

I haven't been on here in a while/keeping up with Thailand news. Has anything positive changed as far as visas/immigration (for americans)? I want to stay for a year or two, any good news?

I know the protests must have hit them hard, so figured maybe some things have changed?

Sorry mate - visa rules are the same actually tightened if you consider they only give you 15days on land border crossing. :)

Yes, there is good news. You can easily get double entry tourist visas in Vientienne Laos. Also, you can fly in as many times as you want and get 30 days stamp each time with NO LIMIT on how many times you can do that (before, they were restricting that). Good times!

If you gave your age and what type of visa you were looking for it may be a bit easier to answer your question. If 50 or over with a penion a year year at a time is no problem.

If you are under 50 and don't want to work or set up a company there are not a lot of choices.

An investment of 10 million baht is back in the police order That is the only real change the has occured.

Oh, and there is the ED education visa if you want to study here. Most use it to study Thai. This is becoming quite popular and the number of class hours required per week is very liberal.
