Tourist Visa Help Required

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm really sorry if a similiar question or topic has been posted before but I'm in a bit of a rush and would be so grateful if someone could answer my question.

I am travelling to Thailand by plane from London to Bangkok on 7th of June. I have a single entry tourist visa which allows me 60 days in Thailand. I am travelling up Thailand and into Laos (on about the 14th) then into Vietnam (about 20th) and then into Cambodia (about 24th) then back into Thailand from Cambodia on about the 26/27th of June. All this travelling is being done by land (bus/train). I am then leaving Thiland (from Bangkok on plane) on 3rd August.

My question is do I just need a single entry visa because I will be leaving Thailand within 60 days (my return flight to London is 56 days after I arrive) or do I need double/multiple entry as I am coming across from Cambodia to Thailand approximately 3 weeks after arriving from London and 5 weeks before departing for London?

I would be very grateful for some advice if anyone knows more about this than me.

Many thanks.

Pete,

Can you apply for a double entry tourist Visa in UK ?

If not no big problem

If you are going to Laos, you can apply for one there and use that when you re enter Thailand again, then you will be covered for the 5 weeks of the final leg of your travels.

:)

You can do it with a single entry by getting a re-entry permit at immigration (1000 baht) that would allow you leave and re-enter and keep you first entry valid. Your permit to stay would remain the same.

That's the one Pete.

Excellent, thanks for your help, really appreciated.

Quick question, you say immigration, can that be done in Thailand, just at an immigration office?

You can do it at any immigration office in Thailand. There are several all over the country.

I would try to obtain a 30 day stamp on arrival in Bangkok (don't fill in visa information and ask). If that is granted use your tourist visa for entry before leaving. No extra cost. If they insist on using your tourist visa you can then do as above and obtain a re-entry permit to keep the 60 days alive (and the 30 day extension possibility if needed).
