Somehow i cannot Burn or erase disks using windows explorer anymore. With Nero i still can do. It was always an easy job, just copy and paste files over to the cd-rom. How can i get it back?

You can try 'right clicking' on your optical drive letter, choosing Properties and then Recording. You can re-enable it from there.

I tried it, there is no such option whith right-clicking (winXP SP3)

Control Panel ----> Admin Tools ------> Services

Look for IMAPI service and set it to "Automatic" or "Manual".

It's probably set to disabled

addition: a missing recording tab normally indicates your drive has a hardware problem

Thanks! That ATAPI service was the problem. Now the recording tab is there. And also the "erase this disk" with right clicking.
