Never having been to Thailand before, what do the electricity sockets look like? Is my standard travel plug likely to work?

Regarding your adaptor = yes, it should work.

2 round or 2 flat pins will work here.

Voltage is 220V

Those outlets in my photo will even accept and Aust. 3 pin plug, but not the bid old UK style beast.

do your best to bring fused travel plug. Better safe than sorry
