Hi All

I am looking at setting up a low speed leased line 64Kbps (not internet connected or vpn) between 2 offices approximately 10 Kms apart in Bangkok. Can anyone suggest any good telecommunication companies and would anyone have any idea on price?

Thanks

I can't see the advantage for a leased line versus a VPN connection - leased line costs have always been gouged because they can.

if you had line of sight I would go radio with yagi's

You'll need a private communication line?

The cheapest, but lately (in my area, which on the border of BKK) a few problem, ToT other then you may expect are very technical and very good in this. We use in Bangkok 4 1to1 connections to connect a few points around the capital, before we connect to Rayong. The Rayong connection is satellite based.

I forget, to say, that about 2 years ago when I wanted to setup this private connection, I was unable to get anywhere with True Corp.

Agree 100%.... you could go with a cheap VPN solution like 2 routers running OpenVPN or use a wireless bridge if you have line of sight.

You can achieve this by using g.shdsl - synchronous data transfer up to 2.3Mbps over one pair of copper wires.

What you need:

1. get your own phone line installed between both locations.

2. get 2 sdsl routers.

3. tell your skilled network administrator to configure these boxes, one as co and one as cpe and route traffic between both locations.

Advantage: no monthly fees

(Edit: typo)
