Facebook - Warning

Featured Replies

Not sure how widespread this is, but there's a Facebook page out there with some very offensive and (in Thailand) illegal content featuring someone very highly respected in Thailand. You can read between the lines I'm sure.

Now, the problem is that if any of your Facebook friends add this page to their profile (deliberately or by accident) it can then appear in your "Highlights" section, along with a very offensive picture, the name of your friend who added it and, most worryingly, the name of the subject of the picture. This even happens if, as with my friend who added it, they remove it from their profile straight away. I can't see any way to hide this from my home page, so anyone peering over your shoulder might see this, and that could cause problems if viewed in Thailand, especially if viewed in public.

On a side note, let's hope the same fate doesn't befall Facebook as what happened with YouTube last year, which might happen if this spreads around enough...

A number of friends bugged me for months to join.  I put it off because of the terms of use issue and things like this can happen, but just yesterday I logged in to a new account anyway.  peer pressure will get ya burned everytime.  I guess my timing is great :)

Just report the page, as I did.

Still doesn't remove it from your home page if a friend has viewed it, and you're still buggered if Facebook don't think it necessary to delete the page.

I thought facebook was how the CIA tracked the number of kittens jesus had killed each time you wacked off ? :)

you can hide any of your friends feeds on facebook. Just hover the mouse over the feed item & it will reveal a "Hide" tab. Click this & it will remove the feed item.

Not sure what the problem is - just don't add said offensive page to your friends? Do you add just about anyone?

Slightly OT - Apparently the Thai police can't locate Thaksin, they don't know where he is. Well if they bothered to check his daughter's facebook page maybe it wouldn't be such a big mystery.....
