Hi,

Anyone done the above route? google maps says about 6 hours, I find that hard to believe. The 'blokes down the pub' say about 3 hours? Anyone got any idea? Average speed about 90-kph on a 250cc

6 hrs far too much....yes, 3 hrs is about right. I think it's about 230 kms from Hua Hin to Kan.

Cheers - any idea about the route? I was told follow the Hua Hin by pass and follow the signs to Ratchaburi and then onto K'Buri - if you know any better please feel free to tell me.

Cheers again

Three hours is about right. Your route choice is pretty limited. Highway 4 to highway 323. Highway 323 will take you right into Kanchanaburi.

Correct 'Gary A' :D

Just to add that once you reach the big Forked Juction, after Petchaburi on the main Highway 4, DO NOT take the Rama II turn off, just go straight and follow the Ratchaburi sign.

Now after this things become "not user friendly" so just follow the Bangkok - Nakhom Pathom sign. Do not turn into Ratchaburi just go over the fly-overs, great drive btw. :) Keep on going, it is a bit of a way until you see the sign for Kanchanaburi so do not panic. :D

Once you trun left onto the 323, from there you are 60-70 kms from Kan.

All dual cabbage carriage ways, lots of big trucks etc....

Have fun.

Yours truly,

Win from Kan :D

P.S. Remember, Kan is on your left as you drive from Hua Hin :D
