Hello Everybody,

I have come here looking for advice about getting a second Fiance Visa for my girlfriend. The story so far:

Went out to Thailand twice in 07 and 08, and in July 08 I used the services of Paul King (lawyer) to obtain a 6 month Fiance Visa for my girlfriend. The application was successfull and my GF duly came out to England(9-7-2008 to 06-01-2009). Due to unforseen family circumstances we were unable to get married during this time. My girlfriend abided by the terms of the visa and returned to Thailand within the alloted time.

We have kept in daily contact and I have just returned from a month visiting her in Thailand, having also now met the parents. I need to know if I can apply for a second Fiance Visa as we would like to get married asap. i would also like to apply for the Visa without the services of an agent,

Has anybody been in similar circumstances or have any advice to offer,

Thanks in advance for any input,

You can apply for a second fiance visa, but will need to explain why you did not marry during the life of the first one.

NB, Paul King does not appear on any register of qualified lawyers in the UK. Neither he nor his agency are registered with the OISC. His website is full of half truths and downright lies; such as his claim to be registered with the 'Embassies Governing Council'. An organisation that does not exist outside of his imagination. That you used his services before and were successful simply shows that you and your fiance qualified and could show that you did. You would have got the visa anyway, without the 'help' of Mr. King.

If the moderators are worried about the above paragraph with regard to a suit for defamation, let Mr. King sue me. I have the perfect defence; all that I have said is true!

Thaks guys for your response!

About the Mr King thing, I had suspected some of the things he said were embroidering the truth but he seemed to have successfully overseen many visas. To be fair I believe I paid for guidance from him more than anything else(expensive I know) as I finally submitted a detailed and concisely organised application to him. This is why I hope to submit my next application myself.

I cannot really say anything negative about him, as he delivered as advertised.

Does any body know a good translator for the Thai side of the application, i understand freedom to marry "garuantees" must be translated into English before submission, and also is my previous visa in itself proof of knowing my girlfriend?

The affirmation of freedom to marry is a requiremnt of the Thai government for those foriegners wishing to marry in Thailand; you do not need it for a fiance application where you will be marrying in the UK.

There are plenty of translators near the embassy and the VAC, I could not recommend any particular one.

Having prviously granted her a fiance visa it would be perverse of the ECO to refuse her this time on relationship grounds. Simply provide the same evidence as before, suitably updated.
