I've pretty much sussed out what i need in regards to the visa thanks to this site.

i have 2 kids 5 and 3 and for the past 5 years i have been 6 weeks here and 6 there, although good for the mileage account im fed up and am thinking of reallocating back to the uk,

up until now my wife is happy in Thailand and wants me to move there but due to the present financial climate its not easy, .(my ex nagged me every day to take her to the UK, thats why she is my ex)

the question is if anyone could give me some pointers as to registering my children for school , doctors and the like, IE: there not in the system etc.

i know deep down she wont like it here no friends,no thai tv freedom to do what she wants , close to her family, if we do relocate lets hope im wrong

thanks all

I brought my 4 year old boy to England this march, took him up the docs showed his British passport no probs, bout a week later a NHS medical card for him came through the door, the only prob was his Thai med records, all in Thai so they were scaraching their heads about what jabs hed had, they came up with a cunning plan, which was to give him 2 jabs which would cover all.Next up the local school, they said I had to phone education aurthority,at first they couldnt offer his first choice school, about a week later they phoned me up to say a place had become available, next nursery,he gets 3 hours a day 5 days a week free, then up the dentist, first checkup now 2 monthly check ups, parents evening this wednesday night then start school proper September, job done. All free, you dont get that in Thailand.

Thai TV can be accessed in the UK - streamed on the net, or via satellite (Hotbird 4)

Take a look here for some info.

rather than starting a new thread, which visa would my wife apply for , ? we are married for two years now all done through the embassy and that,

the website said if you are married and recognised by us you apply for settlement visa to join spouse,

and there is another visa to go to the uk and get married,!!!

will i need to get married again with the first visa ?

many thanks

You can ask your children's Thai Doctor to write in English all the jabs that your child has had in Thailand. Many Thai doctors can speak and/or write in English. When we got to the UK the health visitor that we had aour first appointment with had no problems telling which innoculations she had and which she needed.

As for the TV, you can find many sites on the internet that will give you Thai TV. I pay for one for my wife, which costs about £5 a month and she has access to live TV, recorded TV and Thai movies.
