Planning to take wife back to UK end July. We have got all documents ready and she has an appointment to submit on 29th. However this may be cutting it fine from what I've heard so she's off on the bus (from Khon Kaen) tonight to submit as a walk in

Can someone please tell me what the procedure is for this, does she have to be there at the crack of dawn to queue for a number, and if they issue numbers twice a day, i.e if you don't get a number for the morning session you get a 2nd chance to stand in a queue for the afternoon session.

Cheers

Is it a visit visa or settlement visa?

Settlement applications are currently taking 12-13 weeks to process.

And the settlement application can only be done on line now, making an appointment at the same time to take all the documents in to the VFS centre in Regent House.

By saying your wife already has an appointment for the 29th is this what you've already done?

If so when your wife takes all the documents in she'll be given a receipt with a reference number on it and be told the process could take XX weeks/months to process which, as The Fiend says, for settlement visas, is currently taking over three months. Visit visas are currently taking about six weeks.

If it is a settlement visa you then join the rest of us on the 'UK settlement' thread while your frustration grows daily :):D

No its just a family visit visa. I gave up with the on line application. Tried on and off for over a week but it kept timing out, so just printed out the form and filled it out the old fashioned way

Just really wondering how much of a wait at the centre she's in for.

If she hasn't made an appointment then she will have to join the queue. How long she has to wait depends on how many are in front of her in that queue.
