I often wonder if Thais living in the USA, UK, Europe (I guess anywhere else in the world) have a forum and if so, what do they discuss.

For instance, I wonder if Thais living in USA have a forum where they ask "Where to buy bread making machine?", or "What's the best time to visit Las Vegas?", or "Does my American husband only love me because I'm young and beautiful?", etc., etc. You get the picture.

I guess what I'm asking is, are most of the questions, comments, concerns, suggestions that we post on here (thaivisa.com) common to expats elsewhere in the world?

I would love to be able to read one of these forums to get a glimpse into their way of thinking in that particular country. Just like I'm sure some of the Thais would laugh, shake their head, get angry, etc. at some of the things we write because (probably) a lot of the comments we make are based on misunderstandings, stereotyping, anger, etc.

Any ideas or comments about this?

Yes they do and they have groups that get together as well. They are extremely helpful to each other and never make a hard face when they meet in public nor do they abuse each other or attack opinions or comments of others. My wife met more Thai people lining in Pennsylvania in one month than I have met Western people in general living in Chiang Mai in 5 years most of whom she is still in contact with.

The reason why there isn't a UKvisa or a USvisa dotcom..............

is because the UK and the US don't have 14,756 visa regulations that change every 4 days :)

They sure tear into each other on that site. :)

A quote:

"Only dumbasss fake thai want to swim across mekong to Laos, when you have boats and bridges to use. If you need help in thinking let me know. "

edit: Thanks for the link. VERRRRY educational. The ethnic insults are thick and fast.

Even the layout is the same as TV.

Asia's Finest Lao Chat and Thai Chat are mostly second generation Lao/Thai-Americans... under 25 years old crowd. Not much substantive discussion there but there are history buffs that know what they're talking about.
