Cost Of Non Immigrant B Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

For some reason not getting any search results for this though I'm sure its here (the cost one).

I just want to know how much a non-immigrant B visa costs from Penang?

I only have a letter from employer (no WPS or whatever it is from Labour department) - they say that is enough. Is that so? They've done plenty of work visa for other people so I assume they know.

Do you have to pay for a visa on arrival in Penang or is it free?

I assume I can do this in 2 working days? I arrive weds evening and go back saturday.

And any recommendations on somewhere cheap and ok to stay??

Thanks

The visa will cost the equevelent of 2000 baht in ringit for a single entry visa.

You will get a free 90 day entry when you enter Malaysia.

There are not enough reports for Penang to tell you if you will get the visa without a WP3. Most other consulates require one unless you are going to be a teacher.

It might be a good idea to contact the consulate yourself.

You apply the morning of one day and get the visa back the next afternoon.

Most people use agents to get their visas. The cost for them doing it is not much more than it would be for a taxi to the consulate and back twice.

Edit: See this topic that has reports for getting visas. There are reports there for getting other types of visas but would be a good source for information on Penang. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Latest-Repor...on-t189375.html

Thanks for the prompt reply. It is to be a teacher so should be ok then.

Do you just contact any agent when you arrive? I assume they have them around the guesthouses in the tourist areas? I'll probably do that if it doesn't cost much more but obviously want to make sure I can trust who I'm giving it to.

I have been to penang before but it was years ago so can't really remember it now.

You might check with this guesthouse their agent has been reported as being reliable and one report I recall said it was a good place to stay. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/redirect.php...esthouse.com%2F
