Just Wonderd has Anyone else had a problem with Visa refrence from the Visa site when booking an appointment to submit your visa. I booked mine 10 days before i came to Thailand. My appointment was for Mon 22 June 8 30. We arrived with my Visa file with everything in it, apart from my inside leg mesurment. Its the second application for a Visa , The first being a Holiday Visa . It went through with no problems , The second was a Settlement visa.OK i am no expert but my paperwork was 100%. As my lady was told on the Morning she submited her file , the same one used for her Holiday Visa updated and with the appropraite forms Vaf4. We left Bangkok that day took a 2 hour bus ride To start my Holiday together, The same Night at 9 30 belive it or not my girl gets a tex mesage saying you Visa has been forwarded to the British Embasy. We though great . Then 10 mins later she gets a phone call from the Visa application centre, Saying that there is aproblem with her Visa application Number, she passed the Phone over to me . I spoke to this Thai man ,Which i could Hardly understand , his English was not that good . a surprise concidering he work for the British Visa application centre. The problem he said was the ref number . i told him it was the one given to me after i had submited my application on line. The short story is we made a return 2 hour Bus ride the next day to the Visa application centre. We got there early at 7 45, at 7 50 we got a phone call from a Thai girl asking where were we. my girl said we were sat outside the Visa office . then the Thai girl came out and told us the same thing , The ref number was wrong, I ask how could it be as it was the one i was given from the Visa application site after i had submited my application and i was given a ref number , And why was My girl told that the paperwork was ok after her interview, when she submited her file. The girl said that it was not the Visa centres fault it was the Embasy who had Instructed her to phone us and tell us.Any way I had to got to Internet site and reapply and get a new ref number , there was no point in argueing, It took about 2 hours to do and get back to the Visa application Centre. I sent my lady to the front of the que which upset a few Thai people but anyway she went in and went to the girls counter who accepted it straight away. She went through the same Interview again and the girl said again that the paperwork was ok ,That night again at about the same time my girl gets atex masage your file has been submited to the British Embasy for proccesing , Fingers crossed this time , has anyone had a simular problem , I think the Visa centre dropped a bollok and passed the buck,

For a UK visitor visa, you get a reference from the web site (I think beginning GWF ) and then you get a new reference APET/..../.../.on the receipt once you've handed the docs in. To track the application on line you need the APET/ ref no from the receipt. But is does seem strange you were called back to then provide a further reference no! But I'm mo expert, girlfriend and I have only done 2 visitor visas!

Did you not fill the previous one in with errors on it ? And submitted a covering letter explaining this ?

Quite.

With respect, Thongkorn, it may be you who dropped the <deleted>!

Still, at least the application is with the embassy now, so good luck with it.

I did advise you to fill a fresh application in and start again, i believe you put a covering letter in explaining the errors on the form ?

This is possibly where the confusion came from :)

No errors in my paperwork, The ref was given to me When i booked a date to submit my file, Ok no big problem now , it has been excepted , it just seemed strange when all the paperwork was cheaked and excepted then later we get a phone call ,I know if you make a mistake you can correct it on your paperwork as advised on the vaf site and also you can add a supporting letter. explaning your actions. Thanks though for all the positive info,
