Microsoft is offering 50% off the suggested retail prices for the upgrade versions of Win 7 Premium and Professional (but not Ultimate) for those currently running XP/Vista. That seems like a pretty good deal to me for those planning to migrate over at some point. They say it will be available on Oct. 22 and that purchersers won't be charged till that time (or later if release is delayed [no jokes please]). Details of the offer are here: http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Windo...mhpfeature_win7

Sorry...didn't get that far down into the details...that sorta sucks doesn't it...but not surprising. It maybe that this offer is available locally in each country (I was at MSFT's USA site so offer only good in US. Maybe each country site is running the offers). Another possible work-around is that you can elect to receive a DVD copy of the software (as opposed to download) so when available, you have it shipped to a friend coming to Thailand or the friend re-mails it to you.

I see they are also offering a free upgrade to Win7 for those who purchase a full version Vista (any version) to equivalent Win7 version when available.
