samuidave
We are finishing our construction and need water pump schematic advice. We have a shallow well with excellent water supply, a 2000 litre holding tank, 2 pumps -- a Hitachi 250 with a small built-in pressure tank, and an cetrifugal Espa Alfa 1250M complete with pressure switch and gauge -- and a stand alone 150-litre pressure tank. We were thinking of having the Hitachi pump from the well to the holding tank 4-5 metres away after passing through a gneral filter; it would also have a "Y" option to allow water to be diverted before the filter and to the be used to water the garden area (1.5 rai). Then we were going to have the Espa pump at the house in a room, about 11 metres away from the holding tank. As water enters the building, it would pass a check valve, then through the Espa pump, past the pressure gauge and switch, into the 150 litre bladder that regulates pressure thru our home (4 bedroom, kitchen, jacuzzi tub about 450 sq m.) Does this configuration sounds workable? Are there some obvious shortcomings to this set-up? Are there any clear improvements we could make using the equipment we have on hand? Thank you kindly. Artisi
The concept sounds ok, you should think about an interlock between the holding tank and your pressure pump as a safe guard - should the first pump fail and the holding tank empty - under these conditions the pressure pump shouldn't be able to start up. Thanks for that suggestion. I never thought about, let alone addressed, failure at all.
