Non Sponsored Thai Wanting To Travel To The Uk

Featured Replies

I was asked just what a regular Thai person had to do were they to apply for a visa for the UK and I wasn't actually completely sure as most of the cases I come across involve some form of western support, marriage or a relationship. So I thought I'd ask here.

So you are a Thai, you want to travel to the UK for a holiday and you find out you need a visa. Just what hoops do you have to jump through ?

Is it a difficult process ?

What are the biggest stumbling blocks ?

Is it just a case of job / business, income and savings etc. with a reason to return ?

Thanks

Most visitors, from Thailand or elsewhere, do not have a sponsor.

They have to show they meet the same criteria as a sponsored visitor, but on their own without a sponsor's help.

That is:-

Genuine visitor

Will support and acommodate themselves during the visit

Will leave the UK when, or before, the visa expires.

If they have sufficient funds for the visit and a reason to return to Thailand, e.g. a job, then they should not have a problem.

You would have to be able to maintain and accomadate yourself etc. And show you have enough funds to pay for your trip etc all the usual stuff really as you suggested.
