pattani
We start last week with TOT ADSL Goldcyber 256/1024, but many times we see this error: The connection was refused when attempting to contact .................... and also Time Out is the configuration not good. We connect every time at 100.0 Mbps. How can we check the speed. We have a router from TOT X8124r ADSL Router @Bell and browser is Mozilla Firefox. But its very slow. When we contact 1477 she tell there are now problems when she solve the problems its many quicker next month. Thanks. Pattani
astral
You do not say where these messages are appearing. If they are in the router log then you have lost the physical conenction to TOT. Broken cable somewhere. If it is at the browser level then you just have a very slow connection. Keep pestering TOT, they will get it right. One problem is that the kids who answer the phone have little or no technical knowledge, so cannot really help you. The 100Mbs does not mean anything. That is the speed of the lan connection to your router. I have the goldcyber and most of the time it is quite reasonable, I am on a fileshare at the moment and have a 47-50Kbyte download stream and can still read mail and browse the net. Upload can exceed the quoted figures, something I do not quite understand. Evenings tend to be the worst time of day.
bkk_mike
Upload can exceed the quoted figures, something I do not quite understand. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Upload speeds can be very respectable in Thailand, despite the diabolical download speeds. - simply because Thailand's internet bandwidth is only really constrained inbound, not outbound. i.e. Lots of people in Thailand browse websites outside of Thailand, but given most Thai websites are in Thai, comparatively few people abroad are accessing Thai websites (at least that are physically located in Thailand). This means that upload speeds generally have lots of bandwidth to play with...
