Police Charge Thai Woman For Lying

I have to give kudos to the Pattaya BiB on this one, when it could have been so simple to make a report and call it a night.

source:

Here is a choice nugget from the article...

"Miss Tawin finally confessed that she had fabricated the story in order to get a report file for her foreigner boyfriend to see, in order to cover herself that she had in fact spent the money he had sent in preparation for the wedding.

Miss Tawin admitted that she had spent most of the money at JJ pub, the male Karaoke bar which she had visited almost every night. She had to pay her debt of 35,000 baht for the last two nights of drinking with the male staff."

And the best...

"Miss Tawin said she wanted to have the report document to send to her boyfriend so he would send her more money. However, she preferred to be in jail rather than let her boyfriend know about her behaviour.

Pol. Lt. Col. Reungwit filed the case and charged her for reporting lies."

Throw the book at her! :):D :D :D

Anyone here familiar with her? Send a link to her boyfriend. :D

2 scenarios:

1) she reported the true: she paid for lot of sex and may she will be affect by HIV

2) she reported the false: she has made a deal with some thai puchai (hassip-hassip..) and she try to rip-off 2 x times her "BF".....

I can say that thai ladies aren't creative....:-)

This begs the question of how remarkably stupid a person could be to not be able to keep a story straight about a mugging.

As remarkably stupid as that is, it doesn't come anywhere near the incredible stupidity of the guy who sent her the money.

perhaps he thought he loved her (or wanted a longer term visa)

I guess that is over now

If a Thai person lies to other Thai people, they all know lies are told.

But it would be a loss of face for both sides to not accept what is lied.

Ergo, Thai people are not trained in making a good lie and sticking to it.

The farang on the other hand..........

Quote from article: "She withdrew 200,000 baht from the ATM machine and placed the money in her motorbike. "

Goodness, isn't there a daily limit on ATM withdrawals? That's close to US$6,000.

Under general circustances, most cards in Thailand have a default withrawal limit of about 30,000B per day. However, with prior arangement from your bank you can have that extended to 300k - 500k per day and up to 500k in addition, to be used for bill payment services.

So, in theory, you can have your std. savings account ATM card setup for a max. withdrawal for 1 mil. in one day without your bank calling up to see if anything is out of the ordinary.
