My young son (4 years old) is progressing extremely well at school, and is particulary adept at using the school computer. I want to buy him a laptop that he can use at home and school, and on which I can install suitable educational software in both Thai and English.

Having done the research etc, the Fizzbook kid's computer gets good reviews. I want to buy one of these laptops here in Thailand, but would appreciate if anone could point me in the right direction to a shop (in Pattaya or Bangkok) which is likely to sell this laptop.

Yes, I could take a trip to Pantip Plaza and spend hours and hours searching the dozens of computer shops, whilst being constantly harassed by people whispering 'sex DVD, sexy movie, sexy girls DVD, u like sexy girls CD? ....................... ok, then, sexy guys DVD u like sexy guys etc etc'. That is not my idea of a nice way to shop!!

Any pointers to a shop that sells this laptop are much appreciated

From quick Google this seems to be a UK only item so expect very limited, if any, availability in Thailand and no service. Kids do not seem to take computers to school here (and would mark themselves as a target if they did). I have laptops for 12 and 17 year old and they stay in there room. I just bought an Acer Emachine desktop (6,500 baht) for 7 year old and as had a 19" monitor she is thrilled with that (it is surprisingly fast). Having at school expect time to virus to be in minutes. I am sure you can fix but will you have the time?

An option to that computer might be the SVOA ECO Book (C07-59) currently advertised at IT City. I looks similar and has 1gb RAM and 30gb HD with 8.9" screen for 8,990 baht with free printer.

After checking further find it is the same computer as the Fizzbook.
