February 22, 200521 yr Sticker affair Police set to charge at least four suspects with lese majesty BANGKOK: -- At least four people will be charged with lese majesty and violating the Publishing Act for distributing stickers quoting Their Majesties the King and Queen without permission, Metropolitan Police Bureau deputy chief Maj-General Kamol Kaewsuwan said yesterday. Police have strong evidence against former Democrat Party candidate Thanom Onketpol; Pumsan Seniwong na Ayuthaya; Pratana Kongnak; and Athiwat Chanthumani, Kamol said. More people will be summoned to face similar charges tomorrow, he said. Police do not have enough evidence to charge Democrat Party deputy leader Jurin Laksanawisit in the case, he said. Senior police officials earlier made comments in the press linking Jurin to production of the stickers. Jurin responded by filing a defamation suit against the officers. – The Nation 2005-02-23
