Rimmer Posted July 14, 2009 Share Posted July 14, 2009 Pattaya Police Officers were recently informed of a couple of youths on a Honda Wave motorcycle, who had only moments earler, snatched a gold necklace from Russian tourists, in front of the Grand Condo on Thappraya Road. The officers quickly radioed through a description of the two, and other officers set up check points around the city. The attending officers, in the mean time, gave chase, and caught up with the culprits on Thepprasit Road. Police expected them to try and escape down one of the Soi’s leading to Sukhumvit Road, and with check points in place, they showed up on Thepprasit Soi 5, (the notorious Soi Jurarat), attempting to make good their escape. Whilst trying to avoid the road block, the two crashed from the motorcycle, and attempted to escape into the forest. At this stage, the two young men, drew guns which they aimed at the officers, in quick reply, the officers shot the two robbers, one in the back and one in the right shoulder. The two culprits were identified as Mr. Amnart Phuengsuk, aged 20, the motorbike driver, who was shot in the back and Mr. Henry Suetrong, aged 18, the snatcher, who was shot in the right shoulder. Upon searching the two men, police discovered the gold necklace that had been snatched from the Russian couple. The victims, Mr. Lavrenov Roma, aged 24, and his girlfriend, were brought to the location to identify the suspects and press charges. Police have revealed that the two young offenders are well known to the police, with a string of past crimes, for a long period of time. They will await the recovery of the two shot men, before carrying out further interviews. Police believe that the two have been responsible for a number of these types of crimes in our area.
