How about the Golden Palace Hotel on Soi 1, Sukumvit. tel: 02-252-5115-116

Rate should be about 1,000.

I first stayed there in 1964, later four months in '76, later a month in '89, and many times in between. They had a refurbishment job just a few years ago so rate has gone up.
