I have to go UK soon for 5 weeks and in the past have put my Cocker spaniel, called Lady, in kennels. In the past I have gone away for only 2 weeks and on my return she was so fretful, took days to get her back to her usual happy state. This time I must be away 5 weeks maybe longer and am worried about her welfare. Also the vet has doubled the fee from 100bht a day plus food to 200bht. Just wondering if theres any dog lovers that would like to foster her while I am away.

Rocky,

You might want to try a different kennel. I also have a Cocker Spaniel (see avatar) and when we go on trips we bring him to the Dog Hotel (we live in Bangkok) which is located off Sukhumvit Road before you get in to Pattaya coming from Bangkok. The place sits out of the city and the dogs get plenty of fresh air and the individual kennels are clean and you can even get a aircon room for your pet! For a cocker he charges B150 per day. You have an option with the food. You can bring the food, which is what we do, or pay an extra B 50 per day. You might want to take a ride out and look at the place. Here is the phone number: 038 241686 or 086 1407896. He can give you directions. They also have a website: www.thaipetcare.com

Double confirm that this place is great for dogs. Khum Chaiyaporn loves dogs and takes really good care of them. I've put my dog in several hotels before and so far this is the best for they bring the dog out for a walk three times a day. And now everytime when I leave for holidays and bring my beagle back to this hotel, she will happily wag her tail upon arrival. and if you leave your dog there for 5 weeks, they'll shower your dog once a week.

I always leave my dog at this place in Bang Sare: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Accommodatio...gs-t106006.html. He always comes back in great shape and I have no concerns about recommending the place. Having said that I've not seen the place mentioned above. For a 5 week stay it's probably best to check out a few and see which one you're most comfortable with.
