New Passport Required

Featured Replies

I am a British passport holder, it expires next year 2006 but there is a six month rule. I don't want to return to the U.K. until the end of 2006, I can replace it at a choice of British embassies but my question is, how is the Thai British Embassy with regard passport issues?

Are there long queues and problems etc. OR is it efficient, Bangkok would be convenient for me.

Wilson Steer.

Im sure the Bristish Embassy in Thailand would be far more efficient and less troublesome than returning to England :D

Although I could be wrong, this is Thailand :o

But seriously: Passport renewals, replacements etc. are very common practice. You will have no problems. :D

I renewed my passport last year. It cost GBP50.00 and was ready for collection after 5 working days. No hassle at all! :o

Give The Embassy a call tomorrow and they'll send you all the info.

Depending on where you are, take your old passport and forms in, or send them - although the Embassy don't advise that.

As stated above, your new passport will be ready in a matter of days/one week. Any existing visas for Thailand or other countries will be transferred to the new passport. There is a fee for this.

No long queues in The Consular section. It's not like the visa section.
