Hairless Rat

Featured Replies

A few days ago I was at noodle shop near Victory Monument eating my Pad Thai when I felt something run over my feet , when I looked down I notice a 10 inch hairless rat this is the first time I have ever seen one.

Has anyone else seen any hairless rats or other creatures in Thailand ?

What could have happenned to it ?

Definetly not a Hairless Beaver unless the ones from Brazil are different than the one pictured

Naw, that one went in the soup pot, along with a couple others. But, they are just country rats. The big Norway rats can get huge. I've seen them the same size as a small cat. Mange can take off an animal's fur, but I would have thought rats had an immune system preventing that. I've seen dogs that were almost bald from mange.

Not sure, but has your hair started to fall out yet? Could be contagious!

I have seen lots with lots of hair missing, but not a completely bald one, They're all pretty skanky I reckon.
