Huski has just added a new Forum Portal Page to the forum.

Here it is:

Do you like it?

new way of viewing the forum...also the shoutbox is getting some attention.

in the future some new features will be added with plugins.

Nothing wrong with it. Good idea, and nicely laid out. But personally I prefer just just go direct to the forum proper.

Nice! Though I mostly dive straight into a bunch of forums.. Don't even go to the main sub-forum listing, I fire up 4 sub-forums direct, namely 2, 4, and 28 currently. :o (Those would be general, Farang Entertainment, and, of course, Chiang Mai). Then only after that I may get to the main listing.

Cheers,

Chanchao

looks fine to me, probably stick to the old format for now though

looks cool, Husky ! more entertaining and .... interactive?

one Q : would the topics refresh automatically ? or should click the bottom everytime as b4 ? and also: what's that HTML box for - on the right hand ?

I find it immediately annoying because I have to scroll sideways to see the whole page, and there is too much useless info (to me) to waste my time with, like my personal stats in a big box at the top of the page. If I want to know that stuff, I can easily click on the link. I don't want to bothered with it everytime I open that page. I prefer to go directly into the forum, as others have said... I'd never use that page as my opening page if I didn't have to.

Nothing personal... :o

Just a little too much data for my liking.Like to get straight into the forums. :o

Prefer the old one

Ditto... :o

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

No strong view one way or another but do not feel that i will make use of it

I am with the bulk of the previous posters in going straight to the list of forums.

Soz George geez, voted the "No, it's crap" option.

The list of posts don't seem to make any sense. Are they the first post of current active topics, or the latest? Which sub-forum do they belong to? What's that "Personal Block" doofer all about? Maybe it just takes some getting used to.

The preview of each topic is a good idea though.

I really like it, it'll take a minuit to get used to it but I like the scrolling latest posts section, instead of hanging around in the topic and refreshing the page to see the latest replys, you can just go there, read some other stuff and watch who was the latest postee scroll by and click!

Good stuff :o

takes to much bandwidth on 56k modem.

I navigate to sub-forum directly, not interested in such a list of wide spread topics.

QUESTION

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but whats the 'personal Block' thing for?? Is it like the personal signature???

I've written 'hello' in it, but I'm not sure what that does??!!! :o

it's a "personal" frame for you where you can put your own html for example url's to websites

it doesn't block anything , see as a small post-it for yourself

I wonder Shola, do you answer yourself then? and if so, where does it stop...hello? hello? hello? hello?..........

sorry, I wasn't sure what it was for either but now do :D

Ha! Well if I'm absent from posting for a while then don't worry I'll just be talking to myself! :D

:D Can't say that I like it, the old format suits me, and in my humble opinion is far more practical. :o:D:D:D

I like the the one we are using now a lot better, it is easier.

I usually start out a session by clicking the "View New Posts" button. When I'm sick and tired of reading, I click the "Mark All Forums Read and Return to Index" button.

It would be nice to have a "Mark All Forums Read and Return to Portal" button.

Is that possible?
