My Girlfreind is currently in Australia on a 3 months tourist Visa.She has a month left before she needs to go back home, is she able to apply for a extension on her Visa for another 3 months in Australia or must she go back to the kingdom and apply there?

Another question can she marry on a tourist visa???

Firstly, being in Australia on a tourist visa is not an impediment to marrying.

However, if your girlfriends visa has Condition 8503 attached to it (see her visa label for details), commonly referred to as the 'no further stay' condition, she is prevented from applying for an extension beyond her authorised period of stay in Australia.

Condition 8503 may be waived only if exceptional circumstances exist beyond her control after she arrived in Australia. If you are thinking of getting married and then attempting to apply for an onshore spouse visa, then that is definitely not grounds for a Condition 8503 waiver.

Thanks alot for the information, Her Visa seems to only have 3 conditions:

8101 No work

8201 Max 3 months study

8205 X-Ray if study > 4 weeks

does this mean she can apply for an extension either here or Thailand?
