Cat Internet With Anternative Dns Servers?

Featured Replies

Anyone successfully have that running?

I have tried with a number of different DNS servers. As soon as I switch away from CAT's own DNS many sites including Google will not load.

On both TOT and TT&T this is not an issue at all. I suspect this is due to CAT's proxy policies.

Try this - DNS may work.

Myself I use it but not CAT

Its NTT America

Tried and still same problem. This is really a problem for my router, since I need to use a common DNS for all my ISPs. If CAT will not allow me to use others than their own, I see no other means than dropping them.

I'm fairly sure this is some of their classic proxy surveillance crap.

I don't use a router with EVDO and have no problem changing DNS locations. I have tried a number of them and my service is the same as using the automatic option. I just leave it on automatic.

Probably you will be able to set the DNS on the clients instead then in the router.

I tried to set the DNS server on my router with a CAT line but i had the same problem, the router was always getting the setting from their DHCP

I managed to fix the problem setting the DNS on the clients. I am using my own internal DNS server but i guess it will work with an external too.
