Fugitive suspect sues investigators of Sondhi's case

BANGKOK: -- Army Master Sergeant Panya Srihaera - wanted over the assassination attempt on media mogul Sondhi Limthongkujl - Monday filed suit against Deputy National Police Chief Thanee Somboonsap and other police, accusing them of malfeasance in office.

Panya, from the Lop Buri Special Warfare Centre but still being sought by police, said he had lost his job because of their accusations against him.

Panya has had his lawyer Banyat Jityen file suit against Thanee, chief investigator of the Sondhi case, and Pol Colonel Wicharnwat Borrirakkul, an investigator with the Metropolitan Police Bureau, accusing them of violating Article 157 and 200 of the Criminal Law.

I don't think running makes him guilty.  They would have had him in front of the camera making him look guilty day in and day out.  Showing off their prize catch for the press.

If he is guilty they should have to make a case in court when the time comes and not a show out of it before hand.  That could be a good reason to be running.  The mans freedom is a stake.

"If he had nothing to worry about why is he on the run?" is like saying if he is not guilty then why did they arrest him?    In that case why bother with having a court he must be guilty he got arrested.  or he ran when they charged him so don't bother with the court, we know now he is guilty.

I think right now it is only fair to say they have reason to charge him and thats about it.  Mistakes have been made before.  Lets hope the charges are based on fact and evidence and they put a guilty person away, because if its the wrong one, the bad guy walks.

If the women drowns she must be a witch.

Neither the cop, nor his lawyer are to be envied.

Cases like these are incredibly tough to prove, let alone civil & punitive damages

Plus they also cost - a Judge I knew, once said, you never want to incarcerate your client.

Freedom is a natural instinct - does not indicate guilt or innocence - its a no-brainer.

Those two certainly have their work cut out for them.

Seriously, was it a joke? There is no justice here, everybody knows once you are arrested that is it, the police get their meaty paws on you and its pay or stay. And that's only if they aren't trying to make an example of you or use you as a scapegoat. If they are you are <deleted>.

Hello, it should be good theater when the fugitive shows up for his lawsuit against the establishment. Maybe they learn to file so many lawsuits from the people in the USA, but it could be a desperate attempt at defending through attack so they can settle out of court and he wil not go to prison for a long time. Cheers.

...Gen.Chetta was at the ceremony he attended,

what was the ceremony about and why was he invited to partake?

Is he only a front man who is the cover of someone much, much

more "influential" as power positions are called in LoS?

Unless they have a witness that can say he was invited for that purpose and in fact it was discussed at that ceremony, then its not even good hear say,  its just a guess.  I am not defending the accused here, just noting that such a statement is so far from any level of evidence of wrong doing, it could rise to the level of libel.  I heard rumor that in fact he does have an alibi, but most wanted people do its part of planning anything like this, unless they are all complete morons.   :)

to heat the controversy up - Sondhi, the target teps out ans say he "knows" who his assasins were or who is behind - "a man overseas"

Why doesn't he step on one of his former stages and delivers the news all around "town"...?

Strange tactics...an even stranger bunch!
